Neon Rectangle of Love – The 1975

The 1975 is Mackenzie’s favorite band. She got tickets for Christmas and so we decided that we definitely had to go even though the concert was mother’s day weekend.

The concert was in New Orleans in the outdoor venue there. It was incredible and incredibly hot. Imagine 250 people crammed together in the pit and everyone shoving forward to get close to the band. Luckily we were in the 7th row back. We were closer but got pushed back.

The show was incredible. Neon lights and screaming fans. Everyone sang along to the songs and had a blast.

The night took a turn after the show. We were leaving the venue and Mackenzie had a flat tire. We had to pull over and call a tow truck. It took him two hours to get there and then our card wouldn’t work to pay the guy.

He finally leaves around midnight and we are stuck with a doughnut tire (you can’t go more than 50 mph on them). We head for the interstate and start our journey home.

We are both falling asleep and really struggling to get home. The drive should have taken us two hours, but it took us 4 1/2. We finally walked in the front door of Mackenzie’s house at 4:30 in the morning.

Even though the night didn’t end how we thought it would it was still an awesome night. I would do it all over again if I had to.
